plastic vacuum lines

Default plastic vacuum lines

I started my truck to move it for the first time in a few months after not driving due to 2 bad tires. Fired up just fine but the 4wd wasn't working, crawled underneath and it seems that every plastic vacuum line under the truck is cracked and broken, I don't know if its from snow being packed in every crack and crevice or if a critter was in there.
Is there any place to buy new lines or am I stuck with the dorman black spools? Any way to upgrade the lines? I may as well do the entire truck while I'm in there

The plastic lines get brittle with age, and break. Just a matter of time. Get a roll, different colors if you can find it, and just replace them ALL. Careful with the lines going thru the cowl though, if they break off, and you can't fish them thru, it's a major ordeal to get at them from the inside.

Do you happen To know the size I would need? It seems the locals only have one size and color so I'll have to order it online

No, I don't have a clue...... I *think* its 5/16ths.... but, not sure.

or invest in a Posi-Lok system. gain 2wd low. and it will become mechanical actuated instead of vacuum.

I'll measure it before I head to work today and figure it out. Actually thanks for the name of the posi-lok I was fishing through the forum yesterday for the name of it and couldn't find it. I'll still be replacing vacuum lines, some running towards the back of the truck are broken too

For anyone wondering, all the vacuum lines I measured were 5/32 but finding the proper colors is proving to be a pain
