Default 98 Ram 1500 intermittently dies

So, I've done a lot of searching on this forum and Google. Have found some similar issues and some advice but not my exact problem. Things are a little crazy at work right now and I don't have a lot of time to spend troubleshooting so I was hoping I would find someone that had this problem and already knows how to solve it.

Recently my truck has started intermittently dying while rolling to a stop. After driving it for a while, as I approach a stop sign, or even a turn off the highway, RPM's drop to about 600, maybe putter around for a few seconds between 400 and 1000 and then truck just dies. It starts right back up fine. Funny thing is it only does this sometimes. And, if I let off the gas a little at a time as I approach the stop, it dies less often...so I don't think it's a loose ground issue. I've run some fuel injector cleaner through, didn't really help. I have not tried to unhook the battery and reset anything yet. I haven't replaced any sensors in a long time, but I'm not getting any notification lights or anything. At the last oil change, I took off the air filter housing and looked around, didn't see any big dirtyness issues or anything (I had cleaned and re-charged the K&N filter a few months ago thought maybe I got too much oil on the filter).

Anybody experience this before? Truck is 360 4x4. Thanks.
Jason

my truck did this for a while, it was the relay for my fuel pump.... im not saying that's your problem, but its something to look into, and maybe start with. my truck would start, rev up to about 1200 then die, unless i had my foot on the pedal... of course thats when i bought her off some rancher who knew nothing about fixing vehicles. couldve just been air in the fuel lines, however, take a look at that relay. it wouldent hurt.

Take the throttle body off, remove the IAC motor from the back of it, and clean both really well. Might be signs of a dying IAC though too....

Thanks very much! The IAC was exactly it. Took it off, it was extremely dirty. Emptied a can of carb cleaner on it. It never would move freely, though I wasn't sure if it was supposed to. I went ahead and got a new one to put on. Runs like a champ now. No idle issues and no dying. I appreciate the shortcut to a solution.

Just for future reference, you're never supposed to move the IAC plunger at all when cleaning them....
