Default dodge motor swap need help please!

ok i got a 2001 dodge ram 1500 extended cab with the 5.9l 360 magnum.
i just upgraded the trans to make it "bulletproof" now i want to swap motors

i just bought a small block LA 408 without doing much research i thought it would bolt right up to trans i could use stock intake

i bought it off summit racing park # BPC4083CT

is there anyway i can keep my stock intake and EFI ?
could i even make this motor work with my 47re trans?
will my computer be compatible, if not could i make it work with another option?
do i need to buy a new intake and a carb?

Do i send it back and buy a crate that bolts in? this is my first motor swap and i just need some pointers and tips, i pulled the motor and dropped the trans myself everything is cleaned and ready for a new motor to go in. THANKS

I'm thinkin you need need to ship it back and get a drop in. Not sure if the trans will bolt to the LA style Magnum, while if it doesn't there may be an adapter plate...

You would have to have a custom tune to run that thing.

Fuel delivery according to the Summit Application is Carb, not sure how easy a fuel injected swap is...

It won't have provisions for the crank sensor, the intake manifold bolts are at a different angle, and a selection of other problems. Send it back, get a magnum series engine.

On a side note, the advertised torque rating is 500ft. lbs... No idea what the real world dyno readings would say but it'd have to be one hell of a built 46RE to withstand that.

No. It might "run", but, it ain't gonna be very well..... you will run lean, knock like it's going out of style, and it might have enough power to get out of its own way, but, that's about it. The 408 REQUIRES a custom tune.

You will smoke the stock trans in short order if you even think about beating on, while you are laying in bed...... yeah, it's that bad.
