new timing chain installed
so i installed a new timing chain and all the marks are lined up on the gears, as well as the dizzy at no. 1 when the engines at tdc but still no start. it cranks like crazy and every once in a while it sounds like a back fire and blows one of the plugs off of the intake (drivers side theres vaccuum ports by where the brake booster is routed to) so so far ive put new chain and gears (cloyes double roller) new 8mm plug wires, cap, rotor, and champion plugs. any ideas where to go from here? i was thinking possibly a crank or a cam sensor but would like some input before i go pick em up.
If you had the cam gear at 6 O'clock, and the crank gear at 12 O'clock, and the dist pointed at number one, you are 180 degrees off. Need to either reset the gears, or, pull the dist, turn it 180, and reinstall, then get fuel sync reset. (maybe, it *should* be damn close to what it was. Give it a shot.)
Hopefully, the distributor was not moved during the process of changing the timing chain and gears. Installing the cam gear mark at 6 O'clock and the crank gear mark at 12 O'clock is correct for a standard timing set swap, I thought.. Please let us know if you moved the distributor..
The distributor did get moved, ony because the cam was so far out of time. I live by an engine rebuilder and he put the dizzy back in time with the cam. Should i try and pull the diz and flip the rotor 180?

The chain was stretched so much. http://instagram.com/p/lEDQWnLEe4/ thats a video of how much play was in it when i took it off. I had to move the cam to get it back in time with the crank and it somehow threw the diz out of time thats why i took it to the shop to have him do it

You hosed yourself by moving the dizzy. When lining up the crank and cam it's at TDC on cylinder 6 I believe, not 1.

I highly doubt your chain was out of time. They get loose. I could pull mine off the gears without removing them first. There's no need to move the cam or crank.
If it actually had jumped a tooth it would've ran like comeplete shat
All you have to do is pull old off and put new on. It's not anymore complicated then that
