Default Mini starter?

Anyone know of a vendor that carries the gear reduction mini starters? I need a smaller case starter on my 97 5.8 motor to clear the driveshaft. A 1/2 inch would be great.

Anyone running one?

Thanks!

Summit Racing has this: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/pw...ions/year/1997

I have an email in to Powermaster to see if they have a PDF of dimensions.

The bottom case ear/bolt hangs down and the already too-small driveshaft taps it. Can't break the starter off in a large hit in a race...

Talked to Powermaster. The 9533 is shorter, but not smaller diameter, which is what I need. However, he said the 9513 can be clocked. The mounting plate looks like it has a slot with a slip, maybe about an inch of rotation. May fix my clearance issue at least. Better than trying to find a Jeep 5.9 case....

You might want to check into this starter. It allows for adjustable clocking and is pretty small..

That starter is pretty trick. SInce the motor is along the drive pinion, and I may be able to clock the solenoid up, that may fix the entire issue. Thanks!

RobbMc has been a contributor on another forum (www.moparts.com) for many years. A buddy of mine purchased one of these starters and was very happy with its adjustability.
