Default Drinking gas

Someone PLEASE offer some input. I have a 2001 Ram 1500, 2wd, 5.2L, 170,000 miles. For some time now I have noticed a gassy smell and thought I had an injector leaking down or something. Suddenly, it gets worse. Gas mileage plummets. It smokes and the exhaust wreaks of gas. In the last year, I have performed the plenum fix (it was doing this prior to the plenum, but not as bad), the coolant temp sensor, tested the TPS and it tested fine, new dist, rotor, plugs and wires. Have not done the ignition coil but I think its the only part of the ignition system that I haven't done. Today, I pulled the fuel rails and checked all the injectors and none seem to be leaking. I watched while my wife worked the key and turned it off and on at least 10 times. What am I missing? Any ideas? Could the coil actually be my issue? Ambient temp is 54* and the engine was very close to operating temp and it smokes like the mosquito truck but smells worse. Should mention that it has intermittent spells when it take a few revolutions of the engine to crank it. Also, have a vacuum on the gas cap when I take it off. Its the 4th cap I have gone thru in 2 years. After a few months, the clicker in them stops clicking. May be something wrong with the filler neck. Not sure.

No coolant loss. Smells like gas. Talked to a friend about it. He suggested it may be a stuck valve.

If the valve was stuck there would be a pretty bad misfire going on. A broken valve spring can stick a valve in the head. Truck will shake violently and spark plugs will be black like coal dust.

Far as I can tell, no misfire. No CEL. I have a Super44 muffler so I expect it would be hard to hear a mild miss. I would think it would have to be pretty bad. I am at a loss.

Does your engine temp gauge work correctly? How old is the front O2 sensor?

Replaced the O2 sensor about a year or so ago when I did the plenum fix. The temp gauge is running fine. Shows dead on 185*, just like it should.

Check the MAP SENSOR, if its going bad it can cause the problems your having.
