Default Another heater core replacement question

So i purchased one of those dash replacements from LMC and I am planning on replacing the heater core at the same time. Somewhere I heard that the truck could pop out of gear after you drop the steer column. Is this true? I have to do this work on my driveway which is pretty slated.

Also, does anyone have a writeup on doing the LMC dash replacement?

I did do some searching but my search skills are not good as i can never seem to find anything.

Thanks

Grab the appropriate year service manual for your truck from the service manual thread in the faq section. Procedure will be in there.

9 posts in 7 years? Lurk much?

The dash requires a lot of patience. Lots of little screw's that you have to install by feel. Have fun! And yes, make sure to block your wheels. Mine jumped out and started rolling backward but I happened to be in the right spot and stopped her.
