Default Air Seals

Any suggestions on getting new air seals, Mopar # 52027561 and 52027560. Almost all the online shops show they are discontinued and unavailable. Are these even necessary? Mine are ripped and barely hanging on, after a radiator change. Maybe I can cut some out of material with scissors. Thanks.

I take it those are on either side of the radiator? Just cut some out of thick rubber, or similar material.

I took the RH baffle off mine when I fitted the CAI, to get a good direct airflow.

I think the concept is they dam up air and force the flow through the radiator, rather than the easy path around it.

try dealer only to order new ones. junkyard for direct fit old ones.

or look for some scrap rubber, perhaps floor mats or mud flaps. make some new ones and attach with screws or zip ties.

Really the question is, are they absolutely necessary? I found some rubber at Home Depot that I can buy and cut into new ones, but I'm just wondering if it's really worth it. Thanks.

A one word answer to that question would be "no".

Do they have a purpose, yes... are they absolutely necessary, no.
