Default Building a 408 stroker I need some advice please

Hey guys i have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 entended cab 5.9l 360 with a 46re build trans and build rear end.

I drive my truck as sort of a daily driver, id like to keep the power between 2-5.5k RPMs, i only tow a sled trailer with 4 wheels, and a landscaping trailer every once and a while.. i wanna build something reliable and worth the money

I ordered a short block magnum 408 that is compatible with this swap
http://high-performance-engines.com/...duct_Code=SP57

I would like an opinion for a decent set of aluminum heads for this motor that is compatible. i know they run apox $1500 for a set.

I would also like an opinion on a camshaft kit, or Camshaft intake combo kit.
i heard procomps were good in these models. if im wrong please let me know whats a good one to get.

Can i reuse my stock oil pan if not which one is good to get?

Fuel management: do i stay with stock fuel rails on a eddlebrock intake with stock injectors? or do i upgrade to 24#. which 02 sensors should i get?

what gasket kit do i go with?

do i get a new bolt kit when building a motor or can i reuse as much as possible?

which flywheel or flex plate do i go with?

will my stock harmoic ballacncer work?

i know u guys are thinking this kid is crazy but its a good learning experience i wanna do it but i wanna do it right, thanks for all ur help!

If you can get 72cc. That will keep compression ratio with the linked block around 9:1 or so. These are cast iron though..... but, around 2/3rds the price. Spend the savings elsewhere.

RV cam of some sort. Something designed for idle to 5000, or in that neighborhood. (starting no higher than 1500 RPM)

Get a good quality Fel-Pro rebuild gasket kit. Should have everything in it.

That particular block comes with a harmonic balancer, I think. (at least, it talks about being balanced..... which implies they had to have a balancer on there to do so.)

I would replace the intake, head, and exhaust manifold bolts. Everything else you should be able to re-use.

It doesn't say whether that engine is internal, or external balance.... Think I would ask when ordering. It makes a difference.

With the savings from the heads, get some harland sharp roller rockers. Stick with the 1.6 ratio fellers, and just pick a nice cam.

Hardened pushrods.

New roller lifters. (rumor has it that Mopar sells them for a little over 100 bucks, for the mopar performance guys.)

Stock tin should bolt right on. Might need to remove the baffles from the valve covers, depending on which rockers you go with.

New water pump, thermostat, timing chain and gears (double roller please)
