I'm very partial to that camshaft....in fact I'll probably be putting that in my truck when the time comes. I have the hughes intake manifold on my 360...it works very well and is relatively easy to install. I did a little DIY on the install if you search for it. Please be aware that this intake was meant to work hand in hand with other mods...the intake alone will likely not do anything noticeable to a stock motor. I installed it on mine because I was fixing my plenum anyway and I'm planning on installing headers, roller rockers, heads, cam in the future. It does look freakin sweet under the hood tho!

The hughes intake isn't a bad plan.

Look for a roller cam, with its power band in the idle to 5000 range. (or close....) That is where your engine is going to spend most of it's time anyway. Mine rarely sees 3000 RPM.

With that cam are you gonna be running you stock converter? And all the pictures I've seen of it have made me very jealous so it's probably going to get added to the list, and I couldn't find a leak I cleaned my engine bay today(about as good as it is going to get) I have a few questions, will upload tonight

Default plenum or catalytic converter?

Hi, im trying to diagnose a problem with my 99 dodge, 5.2. It has high mileage (212,000) and is down about a quart of oil every five days or so. The only noticeable leak seems to be around the oil pan gasket, though its not a constant drip. The p 0420 code is on, saying first bank. When I come to a hill, especially in a higher gear, I get a rattle in the motor, sounds like a marble in a can of spray paint. Should I start by replacing the plenum gasket or catalytic converter first? Any guidance is greatly appreciated...

Nice cam. Though you are AT the maximum lift for stock springs..... I would be real tempted to address that as well, and leave yourself a bit more wiggle room before you get to coil bind.

I plan to start with H&S1.7's and the stock cam.
When it's time for the new cam, I'll swap in new heads, valves, springs, etc, that are more appropriate for the cam.
1.7's with .301" lobe lift should give .512" at the valve... I believe .545" is the max limit before interference.
