First one is the actual parts you are looking for, second one just comes with more 'stuff'. Up to you which route you go. Personally, given your symptoms, I think the second one is overkill. (though you will need a filter and gasket in any event. not to mention, fluid.....)

Does anyone think its necessary to change the overdrive shift solenoid thats under the valve body? The transmission mechanic thinks i should also change that being that the pan will already be open to change out the gov solenoid, transducer, filter, and .126 spring upgrade.
Ok thanks. Im right at 100,000 miles so i guess i will have it done also.
ok, so i took it to two transmission shops to be diagnosed. Both said there are zero codes and both experienced the same shuttering between first and second gear shifting when acceleration is above normal driving. The shuttering of the engine is the rev limiter kicking in when the trans wont shift into second when I accelerate at full throttle from a stop. One transmission shop is fairly certain that its just the solenoids and the other believes that the trans is just old and worn (100,000 miles...) and solenoid replacement will not be worth it, although he said he would do it if i wanted.
My question is should i spend $200 on parts (solenoids, filter, oil, new pan) and change them myself and see if it works? Most research ive done points to the gov pressure solenoid. Im really not in a position to get this trans rebuilt financially.
