Sputtering between first and second gear, please help

I never do floor it, it does it when acceleration is anything above a pretty slow start. I noticed it one day and began testing it more by going faster each time until it would not shift into 2nd and the rev limiter kicked in.

If there is a problem in there i would like it fixed before it creates a bigger problem

Do the governor sensor/solenoid set then. Get the heavy duty feller from ebay. (electricaladvantage is the seller) Should solve the issue.

thanks, im gonna just do it myself... when i picked up the truck before, the guy at the shop said he thought the seals were wearing out because of age and thats why it was having the issue.

I just took the truck home and im gonna do the solenoids. I would think if the seals were going bad, the trans wouldnt shift perfect (up or down) in all the other gears. correct?

Correct.

If you have a torque wrench that will do 72 inch/pounds accurately, wouldn't hurt to adjust the bands while you are there as well.

ok thanks alot, dont have the in/lbs torque wrench but maybe see if i can get one. (kinda scares me to mess with the bands though...) I will report back with results

well, problems as soon as I took the pan off... There is a metal piece on the magnet and a lot of very fine metal shavings on the magnet also.

I have no idea how to put this back together.... All i have for references are these two youtube videos:



sorry for all these questions, but all i thought this was gonna be was the simple solenoid replacement and now im stuck with this band adjuster and no idea what to do.

please disregard my other post and answer my question here. thanks for your help.
