Default my trans diagnosis.

Basically it is slow on the upshift. It will get into 4th and overdrive but only if I move the shifter from D to N and back while cruising 40-50 but it seems to be skipping 3rd gear. If it does get into 3rd it seems to pop out and slip into 2nd. Otherwise 1st and 2nd are solid. Once it does get into fourth and overdrive it feels solid but has trouble downshifting. So it drives fine on the highway all day untill there is a slowdown which is even more aggravating when you have a ****ed trans. If I push the OD off button it seems to go into 3rd and then the cycle repeats to get it back into OD4. It has been getting more finicky so I just did a flush and filter today which made the shifting more crisp but the problems are still the same. Also I noticed there is some fluid coming from the bellhousing area in addition to the standard fluid leaking around the pan due to a rock hard baked on cork gasket which took minor tremendous efforts to remove.

I have read that in improperly running engine can lead to funky shifting so I am still holding out the faintest bit of hope that it is the Plenum gasket, but the signs are not looking good as the trans problems have increased through the winter, your thoughts?

All the linkages look fine. I have not dickered with the bands though.

I would like to brag about putting three qaurts in the pan before bolting it on, although if I had done it ffrom the top side I could have finished my sixer by now. Ps I only spilled a tablespoon.

Unplug the 8 pin connector from the drivers side of the trans, 'bout halfway back. Go for a ride. Keep in mind, you will have ZERO automatic function of the trans, if you want it to shift, you will have to shift it. Also, there will be no O/D, or TCC lockup. Run the truck up and down the gears a time or two. If it shifts correctly, when you tell it to, replace the governor pressure sensor, and solenoid. (and adjust the bands while you are in there.) If it doesn't..... band adjustment *might* help.... but, it may also be rebuild time.

I just got a code on mine for the tcc solenoid, and one for system over charging, I reset them with an odb2 scanner and about 3 weeks later it came back on. It seems to shift fine though. It has 169500 miles onit

I get codes for the TCC and O/D solenoids on a fairly regular basis, but, O/D and TCC seem to be working just fine. I just clear the codes and ignore it. If you start seeing them show up more regularly, just replace those two solenoids.

No clue, I thought maybe the over charge code caused the tcc solenoid code to go off, I reset it and it didnt come back for a couple weeks.
