Default tire sizes

I have a 98 ram 1500 5.2 4x4, I currently have 255/70/16s on the truck but I was offered 4 free tires that are pretty much brand new but they're all 235/85/16s. How well would those be on the truck? I don't want to put too small of tires on it.

Your 255's are basically 30" tires, the 235's are almost 32's. They are just MUCH skinnier than the 255's.

Doubt you would notice much difference... on the freeway, maybe *slightly* better.

Brand new tires for free sounds like a great deal to me.. Since i cashed out about 1200 bucks not too long ago for mine.

OK. And yeah, I'm pretty happy about it. I just have to make sure they're not weather cracked. I hope not. But I'm pretty glad that they guy I bought the truck from gave me extra rims too

Haha. Yeah. I had a tail gate come with it too but I sold it. I wish I didn't though because I was hauling some maple stumps that slid around and hit the tailgate pretty hard and now it won't open right.
