Default 97 318 questions

Hey ya'll
Just got a few questions bout my 97 sport. shes pushing 188k, rocking the 318. I've had a few 318s, one first gen and this is my 2nd second gen 318. I was curious if there is any affordable upgrades i can do to get some more get up and go outta the motor. Ive heard swap heads, intake and cam out of a 360. Does that work? Im kinda tight on cash and cant afford that currently, any other suggestions? thanks everyone

Have you done the plenum, timing chain, intake, or anything of those particular parts? I know my 98 318 is a little sluggish but thats because of the plenum .

Heads and intake are the same on both engines. Cams are not interchangeable. give her a good tune up, including cap n rotor. Check plenum for leak(read sticky)and clogged cat will hurt power. Save up for a 360 motor with low miles and do a swap.

Headers and a cam. About $500. Intake.
Headers bolt to existing exhaust.
Roller cam you dont need to buy lifters.
K&N.
