Default High shift points with transgo kit

Alright fellas,
A few months back when I rebuilt my trans I added the transgo tfod-hd2 kit. It would be a great kit for a drag at but on my truck its really high revving and I don't like it. I don't generally like to cruise 25 mph in first gear at 3200 rpms (especially with my exhaust)
My question is would it be feasible to find a stock valve body and use it or would the sure cure kit be a better idea? I suppose either way I'm going to need a new or reman VB.

Thanks,
Mike

Shift kit is just springs and valves isn't it? (and modify a couple holes.....)

How is your TV adjustment? Sounds like you have it too tight.

Yeah springs and valves and a new plate.
I was under the impression that tightening the TV cable would lower the shift points, and vise versa. I have it set with about 1/4 inch of play at the throttle body. The truck slams into gear and stays in first for far too long. I might adjust the lone pressure down a bit too and see if that helps

Wow. With that much slop, it really shouldn't be shifting that hard. Did they give you a choice of springs/valves in that kit?

Yes, there is a choice for most of them. I used the lowest option and I was very conservative with my drill bit sizing as well.

That was my thought but I'm not sure what to check.
It shifts great if you're really hogging on it, I out the hammer down turning on to 127 heading into Michigan and it shifts smooth and is right there where you want it. When I'm creeping through town however its not at all where I want it

Check and see if the throttle valve is stuck open. That's kinda what it sounds like.

127 into michigan? What? Head in to Hudson once in a while? (I am about 8 miles east of hudson on 34. )

I gotta clean out my oil can real good and drain the fluid( its new and I don't want to waste it, thanks to the derale pan I have a drain plug.) I think I'm going to drop the line pressure a scoche while I'm in there and see if that helps.

I have tons of family in Hudson, Adrian, and Clayton. I live in Kunkle Ohio and work in north Adams mi. me and my dad own a pizzeria bar there

Scarily enough, I actually know where that is....

I have lived in the Adrian area since about 1965.... (yeah, I'm old.) Aside from some time in the service, and a year in Cleveland, this is home... I bought a house between adrian and clayton, so, I figger I am here for the duration. Working on getting my barn roof done. Next step is power, and then I will move the 'shop' out there. Currently most of my tools are in the garage. (and boy do I hear about that...... and if I spill something? oh my..... )

If you are bored, and are heading up this way, come by for a visit.
