I just spoke to my dad who gave me the axle to begin with its actually a low pinion dana 44 hd from a 72 ford f250 so you were right its for a ford.
I'm still going to be putting this off for awhile like I said I would like to have the trans and t-case rebuilt before I do anything to save me some headaches. I know for sure I want to do coils though steering might be weird to set up but I may try to rig something up with placement of the steering box.
Just had the rebuild quoted at $2400. Do that sound good for a rebuild on the trans and t-case?

Is that just a stock rebuild? or are they doing some upgrades as well?

I would take that $2400 and find a used Ram 2500 5spd 4wd doner truck that has a toast body or motor and just do a body swap, much easier over what you are going to try and do.

Did you see this over in the FS ads?

That was with upgrades they recommended for off-road use and bigger tires

I would but the truck was my Grandfather's truck and only has 52k miles on it. It's still cherry.
And that trans looks like a deal hopefully I can come up with the money before its gone.
