Default Wild Vents in 2001 Ram

Hi,
I have experienced the 'wild vents' in my 2001 while climbing a steep mountain grade while towing my popup. Is this 'normal' or would installing the vacuum reservoir (part 04677204) help me. If so, has anyone installed on a 2001 and where did they put it. Thank you.

Normal. The vacuum reservoir will help, but, it will probably only postpone it.

"Wild vents" is when your AC or heat starts blowing out of the defrost vents on top of the dash during acceleration. Its a symptom of having insufficient vacuum pressure to keep the vent door closed ( I think) when the vent selector is in any position other than defrost.

Basically when accelerating at around and above rpms of 2,000 or more, your ac or heat will start blowing out the defrost vents. Let off the accelerator and you'll hear a slight "thunk" as the door switches back and the ac or heat will start blowing out the forward vents again (or whichever vents you have it currently set on).
