My pickup is a 2001 dodge ram 1500 4x4 with an automatic. So i removed my engine and transmission to have the transfercase rebuilt and an overdrive housing installed on the transmission. But tonight i reinstalled everything and somehow my odometer was reset to zero? How did this happen and how can i fix it to return to its actual milage?

I think the cluster itself remembers mileage.... at least, it is supposed to..... If it forgot, chances are good that it won't remember anything any more..... Drive it a ways. Turn the truck off, and see if it remembers..... if it doesn't, probably have to replace the cluster.
Started my pickup after work on friday and it was working. I figured it would clear out when i shut it off but it IS still working so far. Im not sure what the deal is but i guess we'll see how long it lasts.
