Default Replaced power brake booster - rear tail/brake lights stay on now.

I replaced my brake booster today because it was hissing. I used the DIY found https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...placement.html It was easy enough, but now my rear brake lights are staying on. What did I miss?

I didn't adjust anything. I installed a cardone re-manufactured brake booster. Are they adjustable?

My brake switch might be going out. I was messing with it today, if I push on the switch, my brake lights go off. I think that's my culprit. Thanks for the help!

Just replace it. They self-adjust ONCE when installed, and that's it. So, don't screw it up.

riddle me this
I just replaced the heater core, dropped steering column and dash finished job, noticed brake lights on, looked switch had broken its tabs. so I go get a new one, install exactly as instructed no brake lights no cut off on cruise control, take it back get a second install as instructed no dice, other than cruise cutting out. so get a third, make sure not to hit the plunger but it in no brake lights still. unless I get my peddle all the way down and my brakes wont allow that.

what did I do wrong? they all work if I take them out but it seems as tho the self adjuster is not doing its bit. I even bent the bracket slightly in order to try and fix it. so now off to the parts store for another unit.

is there a certain orientation? IE harness up or down?

I don't know if this is of any help to you because my truck is a 1997, but here is a picture of me sensor after I installed it.

What procedure are you using to install the switch? Reading the 01 FSM, the procedure seems really straightforward..... But, you do get only ONE chance at it.....
