I have noticed recently that my transmission (automatic) is not shifting smoothly when I come from a stop. usually 1st to 2nd, (around 3000-3500 rpm) and when it does it shifts hard. I have a 2000 1500 off-road). Should I be expecting my transmission to go belly up or is there a simple solution?

Hey jack, I'm no expert so deff listen to these guys but i just wanna share my same experience with my tranny over the last few days.
Same this would occur mainly during cold operation it would either shift kinda hard from 1>2 or not want to shift at all until warmed up a bit. I just dropped my pan today and did filter and added ATF+4 to it and shifting seems back to normal and a lot smoother overall through gears. And it was also around the same rpm as you... But i would start where arde suggested
