So im pulling out my transfer case, 2000 1500 Auto. The model # is 231D. I was wondering if there are other t cases that will fit that are better or more heavy duty? Im searching parts yards for one that will get me back on the road till I can rebuild the current one that's bad. If anyone has any suggestions about what I should install and what would work that would be much appreciated! I run 4:56 in the front and rear diffs thanks for any comments/help in advance!

 

231DHD, 241D, 241DHD. I think even the 242 would be stronger than the 231, and has the advantage of an AWD option. For the others though, may have some driveshaft length/mount issues.
