Exclamation New wheels/Tires

Hey Guys, I need help with figuring out the correct size wheel and tires I need for my truck. I have a 2001 1500 4x4. When I bought the truck it came with some aftermarket wheels so I do not know much about them. I currently have 33x12.50/15 BFG All Terrains on it, but they stick out past the body of the truck. Looking at getting some black wheels from Discount Tire that come in an 18mm offset. My struggle is trying to figure out what tire size I will need to go with so I can reduce the amount the tire extends out past my body.
Not positive but I believe my tires extend out about 1 to 1.5 inches at least. I do not know what the offset is on my current wheels so I do not know yet if the wheels will help with this problem. Also do not want to rub anywhere, and stay close to the 33 size. If anyone has had any set up close to this, a quick suggestion would be greatly appreciated!

Oh and I am thinking of going with 17" wheels

Offset is irrelevant. Backspacing is what you need to know. Both for the current wheels, and the ones you are considering.

You probly have close to 4.5-4.75 back spacing... I buy from discount tire a lot just go into with truck and tell them you want something that doesn't stick out as far.... But do get to small back spacing or else you'll start rubbing your controll arms
