good deal, the boys over at az weren't helpful but i think i have all the tools i'll need now. as long as nothing needs below a 20ft/lb torque rating on re-assembly. probably start tomorrow after work and go all weekend, please keep an eye on my thread i'm sure i'll have questions. thanks.

It's a good idea to put a little RTV on the bolt threads that go into the water jacket.

Question: this nut (fan clutch) turns off counter clockwise right?
yes sir heyyou same as yours actually double roller advance 4* i bought interchangeable parts (fit on any of my three trucks) so that i can go really deep in this one or just the basics and save some goodies for the other two. including the hughes plate, sparks, wires, ect.

oh also how do i know if the fan clutch is bad?

The nut turns off counterclockwise. Not sure how to check the clutch though.

alright i gave up on it tonight have to fab something up tomorrow to get a good hold on that pump to keep it from turning, all my attempts with what i had on hand fell short :/ live and learn.

I just left the serpentine belt on, put a big wrench on the nut, and smacked it with a hammer a couple times. Once it breaks loose, it spins right off.

i tried that first but it just spun the serpentine couldn't hold it.

Chain wrench around the pulley. Doesn't even marf it up. Useful in other places too.
