Default will an RH trans shift with the gauge cluster removed???

i know, i know, completely random screwed up question but bare with me...

i just need to know if the trans shifting will work correctly with o/d and lockup if there is no gauge cluster connected?

i forgot to test this when i did my tear down and its too late now,

i have a 48 dodge cab on a 95 chassis, i want to run a full custom autometer gauge setup, provided the trans will shift with out the factory cluster, (i am keeping all the 95 electrical intact on the 48 cab) if it wont shift, it will not be very hard to install the 95 cluster in the 48 dash, but i really dont want to do that....

perfect! thank you, my concern was that there may be a CAN bus or CCD bus network in there, and if anyone knows about thoes, you know what happens when you remove a piece of the system

Those didn't come about until 96, when dodge switched to the RE trans.
