Default Rough starting

My truck has developed a slight problem, i have noticed that if I park on a slight hill, and try to restart after a period of time, my truck starts extremely rough, it fires without too much cranking but the rpms climb slowly and/or get stuck around 400 and if I hit the gas it snaps right out of it and runs perfect, it almost makes me believe that it is some how flooded but I don't know how that is possible with efi and not excessively cranking the motor, this isn't a major problem, it's more embarrassing than anything. any responses are greatly appreciated

Truck facing up or down the hill? Have you check fuel pressure? How much gas is in the tank? What size tank?

I'd check for a gummed up IAC. It goes in to the back of the throttle body.

Sorry guys, I've been working, it does it facing up and down and it also does it sitting level, but it does it more often on a hill, I haven't checked fuel pressure but I would think it's good because it doesn't always do it which leads me to believe it's something electrical, maybe shorting out, I have replaced the iac before trying to fix it, it fixed a whole mess of other problems it didn't fix this one, do you think it needs cleaned?

When this happens it acts as if it's flooded

Check the connections at the coolant temp sensor. Also check the sensor itself for damage. Why a hill would have an effect on it is a mystery to me though....

Me too, I am starting to think I have a couple of leaky injectors...? Maybe, I'll replace the coolant sensor tomorrow, it's original and needs replacing anyways

+1 on checking fuel pressure.

Sounds like what mine is doing and my fuel pressure is poor- pressurizes up to 49psi, but it doesn't hold it there after it shut it off. Worse after a long rest. Didn't used to do it all the time... but then happened more often until it's every morning now.

Try the key dance: turn it to "On" but not start for 3 seconds, then off. Do this three times. See if it fires right up.

O'Reileys rents fuel pressure readers. Auto zone does not, neither does advance auto (as far as I can tell.)

Meant to replace my fuel pump today... Weather did not cooperate.

I'm going to rent a pressure tester tomorrow along with getting a new temp sensor but the thing is, it NEVER does this after sitting all night, infact, after sitting all night it fires up stronger than anything, and that's without letting the pump prime, I can just crank it up and go
