So there are NO machine shops in Colorado that do good work? That is a little hard to believe. Yes you might have to search a little but I'll bet if you look you'll find one.

 

We have only a few that do engine type stuff ! Believe it or not but the napa machine shop quit doing engine machine work a few yrs back when corperate took it over ? Kinda stupid to me !

 

Keep in mind that you mentioned in your original post that you ran the engine hot and egg shaped the crank journals. I suspect that there may be other issues with your engine that will come up during the rebuild process, but might not be caught with an untrained eye. What part of Colorado are you in that a machine shop is not available? I do understand that not all NAPA have machine shop facilities in them. While the area that I live in has a bunch of NAPA parts stores, only one has a full machine shop in it.

 

colorado springs ! There is one shop that does good work but he has a long turn around seeing he works for himself at home !
