Help with LIfting
I have a 01 Dodge ram sport 4x4 and its lifted 3" already and i am guessin its stock shocks cuz i bought it like this. but i wanna raise it another 2-3". So what all do i need besides the blocks? What shocks can stretch to 5"+ ?
I think the sports came with a leveling kit installed, if you look at the front spring and there is a spacer in there then that's what you have. if it's a different color spring (other than black) then you probably do have a lift. can you take some pics of it?
also the shocks will have to be replaced...

does it have the offroad package? If so then thats your lift. The offroad package came with a 2in block in the rear and i believe ether a spring spacer or 2500 springs. from what i know they are the longer springs and not spacers. If thats the case. you can get a 2 or 3in daystar spacer and get a bigger block for the rear. ( even though i dont recomend it ) I would get an add-a-leaf to raise it or new leaf springs.

well thanks for all the help u guys. and by the way. my shocks are plain black and i measured the blocks in the back(their black also) and they were 3". i have look at the front and i dont think it has a spacer or nothin but i am not the best with this stuff. i always love it, but i used to drive a car,and i just got this 2 months ago.
i would just go to skyjackers website and get you a total new lift right now my 2001 4x4 quadcab is getting a 5 inch with 35s new track bar upper and lower ball joints and a new tie rod and yukon 4.56 gears. i will post pics when i get it back friday

I would recommend getting a new lift kit if you want to raise it another 2-3 inches, if you don't,your front wheels will be "pulled back" towards the cab as your front axle locating arms will be to short for the lift, also your front axle will be pulled more to the drivers side than the passengers side as your track bar will pull it that way the higher you lift it without a relocating device or longer track bar, this is very common on 4" + lifts, you may want to consider a dropped pitman arm also to reduce or eliminate bump steer.Good Luck!
