No MAF on our trucks. Speed-density system, use a MAP sensor.

Po-tay-toe, pah-tah-toe. fat finger typo strikes again.

Either way, I thought I read somewhere that stop/can't restart issue was caused by a failing ma*P* sensor. Is that right?

We have one, it is just pretty much 'non-serviceable.'

Check your engine block grounding cable that goes directly to the negative battery terminal hookup. Mine was only alittle loose and I had this same exact problem. The starter couldn't push enough amps quickly enough through it and it would sputter and cough until it jumped to life. Other times (I guess depending on a good connection by happenstance) it would start like a charm. I actually just replaced the whole ground wire cause was alittle corroded too.
