Here's my truck, I'll get a pic of the motor tomorrow. It's ready to go back together as soon as I get my front end back in with the lift springs.

Why couldn't I just run a fuel pressure regulator on the stock tank and pump?

You could. But generally regulators are just more of hassle then they are worth, constantly leaking and crap. Especially when you're trying to limit a pump that puts out 49ish psi down to like, 4.
