r the diesel tranny's any good?
The reason i ask is that i do landscaping on the weekends and i just put my second tranny in at 80,000 miles. it's a 2001 1500 ram 4x4, automatic, and 360. I want to get a diesel in the same body style but i'm afraid i'll be putting tranny's in that too. My question is, will i be getting myself into the same problem or not? any help would be greatly appreciated!

Get a tranny cooler. A big one.
Get a quality torque converter.
Turn OD off if you're loading it up.
The trannies can be made to last. The 46re isn't as good as a 727, but it's what you've got. You can build the 48's to be reliable, but honestly, if you want reliable, get a manual.

The 47RH/RE that the diesels (and V10s) use is a much beefier transmission. And you can buy aftermarket transmissions from a few companies that are virtually bulletproof. But you'd be better off researching that at this website: www.dieseltruckresource.com
