Default hughes engine cams ?

Anyone have experience with these cams in the 5.2 or 5.9 ? HER9204AL is part number for their smallest cam they make which has more lift and durration than our stock cams. This cam can be used in a stock engine and improves torque across the board.

Looks pretty good. That is going to increase bottom end, and mid range, but, will peter out pretty quick in the upper RPMs. Still and all, better than stock by a good stretch. Will absolutely REQUIRE better springs and such though.

I was reading an article I found on line a couple days ago, about the Dakota RT cam being a good upgrade for a standard 5.9 cam. I don`t know the specs on either cam, but the article made it sound good with noticeable gains in power over the stock 5.9 cam.

All 5.9 Magnum cams are the same, the R/T 5.9 motor is identical in every way to the 5.9 motor in a Dodge Ram.

There is a Mopar R/T cam, and a Mopar R/T+10 cam, both are not worth the hassle and where the confusion comes from, like some insisting Dakota R/T's came with R/T heads.

Any cam will require springs and correct push rods, if using non adj rockers (like stock) the push rods will have to be perfect.

Thank you guys, im gonna hold off on the cam for a bit. PO had a SCT tunner installed im not sure what setting he left it at or it he put it back to stock. Im gonna get a SCT tuner in the future and shorty headers from summit racing. $199 for a pair of house brand but 80% of forums i have read stated theirs were branded pacesetter even though they paid for summit brand. It Has stock muffler on it now but im thinking 24" glass pack. Everyone has flowmasters, someone needs to change the game

If you want to save some more money I would look at ebay stainless headers. That's what I got. I'm sure they're as good of quality as the pacesetters. The heat also makes them a cool purple blue color over time.http://www.ebay.com/itm/STAINLESS-RACING-MANIFOLD-HEADER-EXHAUST-DODGE-RAM-DURANGO-DAKOTA-5-2L-5-9L-V8-/190691294428?_trksid=p2054897.l5666

WOW someone that knows his junk lol. Stock springs can be opened with your bare hands. There junk@best been saying that for years but the rumor was stock springs can support up tp .480 lift lol. R/T +10 cam in its day was a ok performer when 1.7 rockers where used. Now with many more proven grinds to pick from why.
