wheel bearing hub assembly want spin once it is torqued to the 185lbs
The problem im having is that once i torque the nut to 185lbs the hub will not spin. the truck is a 2001 1500 2 wheel drive and the hub has the sealed bearings it it already.I installed a new hub assembly and new nut but once i tighten the nut to 185lbs it want spin,at this point i,m lost. I've never seen anything like this so any help would be great.

Take a look at this thread - sounds like 185 ft/lb may be too much torque for that style bearing assembly:

I read the thread but i think his has the old type bearing with the races and the old cotter key style. Mine has the newer type bearings, I think its called a unit bearing. it looks as tho it has 2 seal type bearing inside the hub. the nut that it says to replace has like teflone in it. If i tighten down slowly i can get 98% of the up and down motion out with out it seizing up but if i torque it to the 185lbs that it calls for it want turn. at this poi nt i wounder if i have a bad NEW hub assembly.

havent put the tire on yet because the hub was tight. Im used to the old style, u tighten them to there just right and stick the cotter key in it. im 99%sure its the unit bearing. it loooks nothing like the old style with with bearing and race.as of right now its torqued at 185lbs and want spin. going to stick the tire on and see if it spins.

not really answered... but The 3 hub bearing bolts should be torqued to 122 ft/lbs if you really feel the need to do that they are quite large it would take massive vibration to make them loose
