My 2001 dodge ram 2500. 5.9 gas has 194,003 miles it's got 35x13.50x20s on it I've gind threw 4 stock transmission.
This is my daily driver and sometimes tow rig. So I'm going to bite the bullet and build it but wat do I need to have done when I haul it in for a rebuild? Wat parts need to be upgraded for longer life.

Check out the sticky MonteC Transmission corner. Very informative and details most if not all of the upgrades recommended. Or order a Megaviper from PATC transmissions. Shipping is reasonable and they're pretty much bullet proof. I absolutely love mine. There is also a Tranny build thread under there DIY section that details a lot of the recommended parts.

I will not run a patc tranny. Heard lots of bad from them and even a co worker had problems with the warrenty on after a month of installing it...

The truck has factory 4.10s

Interesting comment about PATC. Several of us are running then without any issues. But to each his own. Regardless, there several threads here that detail the improvements needed to strengthen the 46re up. Did you take the time to read through the thread I pointed you to?

If you want to get a rebuilt tranny from someone then give Martin Saine @ (951) 907-0434 a call. He built the 46RE that is going to be going into my Jeep behind a 408 stroker. I too had read stuff about PATC plus was not impressed with the people I talked with either. So I did some searching and found Martin and am very glad I did.
He isn't fast as he builds each tranny to your specifications but you won't be sorry. He also sells parts if you want to do it yourself.

I plan on scraping the 46rh and droping a manual transmission in. Problem solved.

You can put 47re parts into a 46re.

Do you have the tow package? Do you have auxiliary cooler(s)? Have you flushed the cooler portion of the radiator or replaced it? Did all those 4 trannies come from a reman or just junk yard?

How is everything else running? Any vibes? Sorry, just seems alot of trannies!?!?!?
