My son has 1999 ram 129000 miles 4 wd 5.2 liter around 45 50 mph the truck just dies let it sit for about 10 minutes fires right up made it about6 miles and it did the same thing ,I drove the truck today for about 30 minutes around the same speed and didn't have the issue .Anybodyelse have this problem ? or suggetions

 

Truck shifts into Overdrive right around in there..... does the dieing out coincide with that? Was it any cooler when you drove it, as compared to when your son did? Might just be something getting hot..... (cam, or crank sensor), or, might be an electrical short on the O/D circuit. (if it dies when it hits O/D)
