Default 1996 Dodge Ram Underhood Light Issue

Hey there everyone! I got a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 5.9. Just got kinda a simple issue i got, well i hope. I just fixed everything on the underhood light and got it working fine and bright! The issue is now it wont turn off. Is there a button sensor for the hood like the doors, hiding somewhere or what cause i cant seem to find it or any info on it. Thanks!

I think it is controlled by a Mercury switch that is built in the light housing.
Try tilting it a little front to rear.
Mine is broke too.

i took it apart to clean all the parts and there was a spring behind the bulb in the second part of the housing, i tilted it and nothing happened, still stayed on. even slammed the hood a few times , not even a flicker. Least i know its working good. Would like this fixed cause i want to install some little LED bars behind the grill so when i open the hood, it wont be hard to see the engine at night.

I've got some mercury switches I bought for doing LED lights. I use em for underhood, toolbox and even bed lighting that will come on when you drop the tailgate. Just solder them inline.
They are expensive little buggers, I paid like $12 a piece for them in bulk. Got a few leftovers from my project, if anybody needs one I can send for $15 shipped...

got any pictures of them? .........but I figure out the issue, I put the mercury sensor (looks like a bullet behind the bulb) in backwards and it kept power to the light at all times.. Oops.
