My driveshaft snapped at around 135mph... It had been rubbing against the muffler which had come loose at one point...

quick tip to get up to higher speeds... turn o/d off... the engine runs better and is in it's power curve at higher rpms, but if you have your governer in tact, you can't over-rev it so, don't worry about that... and your truck will shut you down at 115 anyway..., but you can get there alot easier in third instead of overdrive...now, once you red line third, shift to overdrive... you won't have much left, but you;ll be right at the max torque output of the engine, unless you've moved your shift points... you'd better have the governer turned off if you wanna see this though, you won't redline 3rd until about 140... oh,and by the way, unless you've modded it, it's gonne get real squirrely between 110 and 125...i think that comes from a lack of downforce on the front end, but after you get going about 125, no air is having a chance to pass under the truck anymore, so it actually lowers and becomes very smooth...

115 sounds about right for me. Is that that they can't go any faster or are they governed at that speed?

So my question is does anyone know how to remove the govener. I'm out at 115, and I get there way to damn Quick. We got us a nice long mesa between Mesquite NV, and Vegas that is about 4 miles long and just asks me to play touch-n-feel with the govener...

Yeah, it was. I thought I blew the engine. I put it in neutral and had it shut down in less than 2 seconds. When the loud thumping continued, I knew it wasn't the engine and thought it may have been the tranny. But after I got it stopped, got out, and looked at it, it was apparent that it was not that serious. It is hard to miss a 5" Diameter pipe hanging down under your truck... Haha... It was at 3 in the morning too, what a bum time, huh? Thankfully it stayed in between the frame rails and didn't reach the exhaust system or fuel tank.

The best way to go is a programmer. The dealership can do it, but they don't like to, and the charge an arm and both legs for it. Spend the money on the programmer, you can do so much more with it too. They are a good investment... Just don't get too crazy with your settings, you can screw stuff up pretty bad if you do...

i went about 110 in my 95 ram. then i hit a pot hole, barely kept it on the road, and almost peed my pants. anyways question- someone said something about puttin it in 4lo and takin off- sounds like fun (and makes sense) BUT arent you supposed to not go over 25 (or maybe its 35) mph in 4lo? i think i read that in my owners manual- anyways ill definately have to try that sometime
