Default Headers

Looking to add some headers to my 01 4wd ram. A buddy recommend JBA headers. I read the header poll thread but it hasn't been updated since 2013. I'm leaning toward a set of Ceramic Coated headers.

I have a set of JBA shorty coated headers on my truck and love them. They are high quality are the best made shorty headers I've seen (thick flanges, high quality welds, high quality chip resistant coating, etc.).

How well did they fit? I noticed in the header thread that a lot of people was having trouble with their headers lining up the block and exhaust.

Gibson would also be worth a look for ST's.

There's a hearer thread here somewhere that had activity this year... as recent as a couple of months ago.
[Edit] My bad... the one that I was thinking about was on exhausts... Pacesetter LT's have been discussed a bit, but they are a tight fit on 4x4's.

I have thought about Gibson too. Do you have a set and how is the fit and finish on them? LT might be really tight on my truck since its still stock height.

Fit with JBA shortys on my truck was perfect. I had Pacesetter shortys on it prior to that. While Pacesetters fit, I had to use a hydraulic spreader to make the stock Y-pipe line up to get them bolted up.

I don't have Gibson, but they were on my short list when I was shopping for headers.
I was down to JBA and Gibson for short tubes, and Pacesetter for long tubes.
I chose long tubes over short tubes, so Pacesetter was my only off the shelf option.
Had I chosen the short tube route, I would have gone with Gibson, because I saw more comments about JBA fitment issues, and I had a bead on a better price for the Gibsons.

The only reason I have the JBA shorty headers is that I luckily found them used via my local craigslist at a price I could not refuse. They were in perfect condition. If I had to purchase them new at the going rate, I would not have them.

I have a set of Gibson GP301s stainless steel headers that I bought for my truck but never installed before Isold the truck. I may have bought these from another member, but its long enough I dont remember for sure. They are unused and have the hardware and instructions but the Gibson gaskets are MIA. They are beautifully made. I cant testify about how they perform compared to other brands but the flanges on these are really thick. I cant imagine them warping. I am looking to sell them, but do not have the required posts ore reputation to list them outright. I live near Harford CT and can photograph them on top of a recent news paper if that would help in the trust department. Summits lists them for $429 about. I am looking for $250 plus shipping. Think I paid $300.

You have the requisite number of posts..... Should be able to post them up in the classified section.... (and they require pics. )
