Default Rear end

Hey guys - let me try this again. New to the Dodge Forum....how do I tell what type of rear end my truck has?? It's a 2000 1500 4x4 Sport w/ a 318, 5 Speed and 3.92 gears from what I can tell. The build sheet says it has a Corp 7.25 and the sticker in the glove box says it has a Corp 9. Kind of stupid when it comes to this stuff........thanks for the help.

No....they all have 9.25 rear axles. But the 9.25 rear axle could have several different gear ratios.

I have 3.92 gears in mine and it seems like most people on here have like 3.4 or something. Were the 3.92s optional or something?

The guy I got it from told me it was a special order truck. Seemed like an odd ratio....maybe it has something to do with the 5-speed transmission or the towing package (or a combination of those two things). Don't know.....pulls like an M-F'er though!!

I got the build sheet from Dodge (thanks to the forum) and it seemed kind of messed up w/ typos and some incorrect info. Said it had a Corp 7.25 and from what everyone has said so far it sounds like the truck most likely has a Corp 9.25 instead (what it says in the glove box).

Obviously the 7.25 was probably a typo, but my truck seems a whole lot taller than other Ram 4x4's I park next too. The 285's it has also have plenty of room in the wheel wells, making me wonder if it has some type of Off Road package or something that also wasn't listed on the build sheet. Did Dodge offer one basic "Off Road Package" or were there degrees of options available like taller springs, etc.??? Or are Sport model 4x4's just a lot taller than normal Ram 4x4's? Any answers out there?

I thought all the off road packages had 4.10s in them?
