Hi.
My neighbor has a 1997 Dodge 1500 w/a 5,2 - V8 with little over 5000km, engine is in very good condition.
He also have a 2003 Dodge 1500 w/a 4,7 - V8, that uses a lot of gas compared to the 1997 model.
Can we swap these two engines w/o any problems, or what problems do you think we will encounter?
Appreciate any and all help you can provide us, thank you in advance.

No. You can't. Bellhousing bolt patterns are different, engine mounts are different, trans mounts are different, PCM and wiring harness are different, even the way the instruments are driven is different.
You would need to swap EVERYTHING. And I do believe that includes the dash, and interior wiring. It *can* be done, but, is a major exercise, and WILL require some fabrication work.
You would be much further ahead trying to figure out why the 4.7 is such a gas guzzler.
