The stud is there, so that's all good. Ham Bone asked me about a post on the passenger side of the airbox, and that was the only thing similar to a post there.

The fitting for the breather hose is on the back of the air box, but it's on the drivers side. Should it be on the passenger side?

Not for a 96. Easiest thing would be to switch the Pcv over the passenger side and breather to the drivers and run the hose that way.

On a 00-01 it is on the side near the from beside the intake air pipe. But you have an old style air hat.

Just switch sides and get the breather thing and run a vac line to it and everything will be fine.

Ah, alright. The wording confused me, sorry about that.

I assume an air box from an 00-01' should fit my truck just fine. Out of curiosity, I should also be able to fix it by buying one of those, right? I feel like that'd be an easier thing to do, then I don't have to worry about finding a new place for those vacuum lines on the passenger side.

Uh yeah I guess there would be no place for the Pcv to go.

A newer air hat would fit ffine.

Could just run a hose around the back of the intake to the air hat for the breather. That would be easiest and cheapest.

Got it. I'll see if I can find an air box the next time I go to a scrap yard. If not, I'll find a hose I can make work.

Again, thank you all for the help! I really appreciate it.

I don't think the airbox changed..... I think they just made up a longer hose to reach the standard location from the passenger side valve cover.... anyone with a 00 or newer care to comment?

No. On newer engines it's right beside air intake pipe thing coming from the fender. There's a little post.

I can't find a picture

I've got a similar question. On my 1999 5.2 1500, the air box has 2 tube ports on the driver's side. One is on the left side of the air box pointing towards the left front wheel. The other is on the back of the box pointing towards the engine/cab. Which one should the hose from the driver's valve cover attach to?

Anyone? Bueller! Bueller!

Which air hat port should the driver's side valve cover hose attach to? The one pointing towards the front left tire, or back towards the driver on the back left of the "T" part of the air hat? Currently connected to the one pointing towards the tire. My haynes manual doesn't show/mention it.

I believe it should be the one on the back of the box, pointing towards the cab. I know how they did things got moved around over the years, but this is how it is on my 1997. Pictures would be beneficial.
