Default NEED WIRING HELP!!! ( fog light issue)

I have a 1999 dodge ram 1500 sport. Alright here's a little back story to get to my problem... So not too long ago I had to replace my front bumper( long story short, tree's don't move) and I replaced it with just a standard bumper (non sport) and it didn't have any fog lights in it. So about a month I bought some aftermarket fogs from my local store and they happened to have two wires on the back same as the factory fog light harness. I have them wired in correctly and right, No splices or anything like that. I used regular all weather connectors and they worked great up until this past Thursday. On Thursday I noticed they didn't come on so I took a look and one of the wires had pulled out of the connector ( my stupid mistake, zip tied it up to tight and pulled put) so no big deal I get that reconnected and they still won't turn. So I did some looking and on ramforumz someone posted what the readings should be when testing the fog light relay. When I checked them tonight all five points they relay plugs into read 0's across the screen. The relay will not click. And my little green fog light indicater on the headlight switch doesn't light up either. I'm very green when it comes to electrical. Would I be wrong in thinking that my problem is before the relay. Could it be the switch or bad wires.. If someone could help me out I'd greatly appreciate it.

Gah! What a screwy system. There are TWO relays for the fogs in the PDC. Primary gets power on pin 30, from fuse G (15a) also in the PDC. Secondary relay gets power from the primary, when fogs are turned on. Secondary control circuit runs thru the dimmer switch.... (no fogs with high beams on) We havin' fun yet?

You can download the 98 service manual from here. Wiring diagrams for the fogs are on page 8W-50-5.

Tell me about it. The whole system is crazy. Fuse G is still good. I checked the foglamp relay and (unless I did it wrong, I put black to ground, red into the relay plugs) I got a zero reading in each plug.. So correct me if im wrong, but my thinking is that unless I checked it wrong the relay isn't getting any power which would lead me to think that my problem is happening between the switch and the relay. Is there something that I'm missing?? I don't want to take the dash apart for the switch unless I absolutely have to. So hopefully somebody could help me diagnose the problem.

Need to verify which relay you were checking. I think you were checking the secondary... which will only have power with the fogs turned on.

No such thing as a dumb question here......

I think that one is relay two. You want the one right next to it.

From bottom to top, its Fog relay 2, fog relay 1, Horn, Security.

Well it just started to rain here, so I didn't really dig into it to much right now... I tested the relay next to it really quick and I had a couple readings and it jumped around but didn't read anything close to what it should have. My dad will be coming over next week and he has a dvom he'll bring that we can really get looking into it with, all I have is a really small cheap volt meter. And its crap. When we look into it this week I'll keep you posted on what we find... But its break time :-)
