I don't like 'em, don't trust 'em. They alter your steering geometry as well, and can lend some truly interesting driving characteristics...... Also, many locations have laws about how far tires can stick out of the wheel well.... might wanna check into that as well.

Basically, moving the entire wheel/tire assembly out in such a manner, introduces additional side loads on the hub/bearing assembly, which leads to dramatically shortened lifespans......

It's the same principle as goin with wider rims with a different offset to make em stick out but I'm just askin if anyone has went an used em from a 5 lug to 6 lug

I agree with HeyYou, I don't trust them at all and unless you are traveling at high speeds across rough terrain, there is no need for the wider stance. I have see Chevy owners go from 6-lug to 5-lug and Ford owners go from 5-lug to 6-lug but I have notice after they install the spacers, there are more trips to the shop or dealership for worn steering and axle components.

The typical reason to change lug pattern is for a wheel brand/choice. The other being a desired offset and backspacing.

The spacer thickness can be nullified with rim width and increased backspacing.

The off road community uses them a plenty.

I have seen lots of people use them with success. By success I mean they haven't failed (broke). Some people even use locktite while putting them on.

But bottom line like others have mentioned it will increase wear and tear on steering/suspension. Also adds a risk factor because they CAN fail.

When used just to push your tires out further all I think if is people taking the short cut way out.

Plus little tires that are just physically out further look hilarious imo.
