Default Another plenum gasket question

I checked at the local auto parts store and they have a rubber gasket available for the plenum. Anyone tried this? Think it would make a difference with it being rubber and able to flex or just get hot and crack apart? How about RTV between the two surfaces with or without a gasket? I know just getting the Hughes kit is the way to go but had to ask if anyone has tried these other methods.

It do get warm in there.... biggest thing is, use short bolts, or, cut the nipple off the end of the stockers. Major issue there is, they are too long, and bottom in the holes before actually torquing the plate to spec.
