The oil in the coolant could potentially come back and bite you in the keester if you re-use that block. Nowhere in the heads for oil to get into the cooling system. That's gotta happen in the block.

Hm. Thats just ****ty. So, that leaves me with two options. Swap, which honestly would be difficult for me to do right now. Dad's the expert, but with his back he can't be out in the cold for very long, and our pole barn is a revamped stable with an open side. Not good for December weather. Or fix minor things on the truck, as it probably shouldn't have passed inspection, then sell it as is just needing the motor swap.

EDIT: And thanks to the coolant shake that's passing through all the hoses, I won't have a choice but to replace those now, right?

Yeah, I think that's gonna be a tough mess to flush out, but, you will have to try anyway.... as it will be in the heater core as well. Some chemical flush might do the trick....
