I just got a 99 Dodge 4x4 Sport as a new toy to build up and have my first head-scratcher already. Only the inner high beams and the passenger low beam were working. So this evening after work I stop and get a bulb(9007) and both low beams work but when I flip to highbeam just the outer bulbs switch to high now and I get nothing the inner. Anyone got any ideas?
My sport only has two bulbs total.... so, I may ask some silly questions here....
Thought they used 9004 bulb?
I replaced it going off the burnt out bulb, I did check the other side and it's a 9007 too. The inner bulbs are 9004 though.
Are all four supposed to be on with the highbeams?
I don't think so, maybe I worded my problem wrong. At first before I replaced the bulb the outer bulbs(actually only the one since the drivers side was burnt out)were one in low and when I flipped to high beams the outer went off and the inner were on. Now after replacing bulb the outer are on for low and when I flip to high beam the outer bulbs light up in high mode now and the inner don't light up at all.
Don't have the connectors mixed up do you?
No I put it back exactly as it was, though now that you say that I wonder if the original owner had them mixed up at one time.
Soon as I'm off work will check the connectors are on right, is there a way to tell by looking or will I need to swap them around to test them?
