Good choice. The series 80 nonsense in the Kimber functions on the grip safety and is a relic from the 1920s that didn't take off until the series 80 hype. I still prefer the series 70 and may be getting rid of the titanium firing pin if it continues to fall light.

I've always been a firm believer that it's not a truck if you don't have long jumper cables and a chain with you. A good chain has so many uses...

Of course I keep a Craftsman 200+ Mechanic's tool set with other self added goodies as well. A Blanket is always good to have too. You know, to keep the lady friend warm just in case she isn't out helping you fix the problem.

I've never had an issue with mine, granted it's the 3 inch barrel so I don't shoot it as much as my others, I've got over 250k documented rounds down the tube and haven't had a problem, unlike my taurus pt1911 that inadvertently went full auto after about 700k rounds, boy talk about the single most fun/mess your pants experience I've ever had outside of combat.
