Default 1.7 hs

Quick question for anybody to give me a quick answer. I'm looking at possibly getting 1.7's in a few days and I'm wondering about the non-adjustable vs. the adjustable. I see the non- adj. are higher in price compared to the adj. on Summit. Is there any pros or cons to both or just the fact you can adjust one set?

The nons- will fit under the stock valve covers. I don't think the adjustables will.

Also, I think you will also need studs, nuts, and locks, for the adjustables.

That said, adjustable is always better.

I see the Non's are 5/16" in stud size while the adjustables are 3/8" in stud size. I'm probably never going to swap cams so the adjustables aren't quite what I need unless I dont need to swap or buy fasteners for them.

Go with the nons- then. They are a direct bolt in.

Go with the non adjustables, adjustables will not fit under stock valve covers. No need for adjustables if its just the roller rockers you will be using, IE no cam swap as you said.

And those of you that put the 1.7 HS rockers in your truck engines - did you get a noticable difference in power? Any MPG changes? The 1.7 HS's are on my someday list, but only if they'll make a noticable difference (doesn't have to be night-and-day).

One member actually had a dyno test from before/after installing the HS rockers. 10 horsepower and torque gained. One of THE best 'bang for the buck' mods you can do on these trucks.

Absolutely, no placebo effect. Solid seat of the pants difference and nice and simple to install in an afternoon. I doubt MPG is any better but I don`t calculate

+1, this. Great bang for the buck! IIRC if you use a 1.6 ratio roller you will gain around 5-6hp at the wheels from simply removing the rocker arms, no "parasitic drag" is caused from the rollers.
