Throttle body spacer??
Sho 'nuff does, which is very cool. It's bigger (much bigger) than the inline mufker, and you replace it with new every time you change the filter. Gotta love it, huh?
My main concern is the lag during takeoff if I did this, I don't want a lag or have to shift it to N to let the torque converter build up. That's why I wanted your guys input on it before I went and tried it. I don't know why dodge ever put this vavle in anyways, Chevy never did, ford never did and neither of those ever had any trans problems, dodge did put it in and they are notorious for their transmission in these years!
The only delay you will ever find is if started cold and "immediately" put in gear . 10-20 sec warm up and you'll never know the difference . No lag . Never effected anything and no CELs .
On my 96 , I have a rebuilt trans , done by PO . First thing I noticed was the lack of heat in the trans lines going to the cooler , even after 1/2 hwy driving . Lack of circulation . After I removed the valve , both lines are now hot . Now it has free flow circulation . At this point , if you live in a warm/hot climate , I would install that extra trans cooler if not equipped . Now your all set unless you want the extras . New shifter lever seal , new dipstick trans grommet , deep B&M/similar oil pan and a temp gauge . That's what I ran on my wife's Grand Cherokee 5.9/46RE . Done at 100K , sitting at 180 now .
IMO , that check valve is responsible for a high % of dodge/jeep transmission issues

On my truck, there is no check valve, and I only have to wait a little bit if the truck has been sitting overnight. Just that first start of the morning. The rest of the day, its start it up, and go.
There is also a couple different 'shift improver kits', that fix this particular problem, and the T/C will charge with the trans in park. (which also means you can check fluid level in park.)
