All I can foresee are a lot of complications .

Better idea ;
performance intake
bigger throttle body
bigger 4 port injectors
tuner

Op that depends on the type of stand alone system you get and how you wire all this in. Very good chance your stock dash will work just fine.

@ onegoodmasion stock injectors are good to 450hp no need to change them out for a bigger set.

four hole vs 1 hole provides better atomization of the fuel . Stock motor I would not worry about it , but , if building , they are better .

Oh yeah , why downgrade from 8 to 2 injectors anyways . EFI is so late 80 , early 90's technology . MPFI is better

I went from a single hole stock injector to a three hole injector, not one bit of difference in fuel trim or performance was noted (and she ain't stock). Fuel trim can be adjusted if a tuner is used, there is no need or gain to going to a three or four hole injector on these motors.

I don't use a tuner so this is why I went up in one injector size as I had a mid range lean spot.

If it's an auto, you'll loose the auto shift and the stock gauges on these things are all but worthless except the speedo, first thing you should with a built motor is make sure the gauges are accurate.

Why the standalone EFI, people are having good luck with SCT tuners now with some serious motor builds.

Build the 5.9 into a 408 stroker, add in good set of heads, intake and mild camshaft and you will be well on your way to that horsepower goal.
